Been called as Pungi as well. A Been or Pungi is a wind instrument played by snake charmers in India. Been is similar to Chinese Hulusi but has no metal reed and instead uses two small bamboo pipes inside the gourd called ?Jeevala?. The Been was improved to produce the Shehnai. Been (Pungi) originated in India and is usually played by the snake charmers on streets even today.
