This is a Ravi Shankar Style Sitar.
7 main and 13 sympathetic (Tarab) strings
Hand carved natural bone Main and Tarab (sympathetic) bridge.
Steel strings are German made and Bronze and Brass strings are English made.
Hand carved Rose shaped 7 main pegs and 13 sympathetic strings
The main pegs are fitted precisely in to the taper reamered holes on the head stock so that the pegs don’t slip and the sitar stays in tune.
The 13 sympathetic string pegs are correctly located in-between the frets and fitted precisely in the taper reamered holes.
The frets are made of German Silver wire and the intonation of the frets are appropriately placed.
There are finely hand engraved flowers on the edges of the main pillar and a rose leaf carved design on the main gourd which makes the visual of this sitar beautiful.
The body of the Sitar is made of well-seasoned high-quality toon wood (Red Cider) holding a well-seasoned dried natural pumpkin gourd/Tumba/resonator.
This is a professional Sitar and exclusively manufactured in the JAS Factory.
