  • Odyssey Premiere 'Bb/F' Tenor Trombone Outfit

Odyssey Premiere 'Bb/F' Tenor Trombone Outfit

    OTB1800

Be even more versatile on the versatile tenor trombone!  Usually maintaining the same traditional medium-large to large bore size of 'standard' tenor trombones, a trombone that has an attachment of additional tubing allows the player to play chromatically throughout its musical range.  Using a 'trigger' valve, the player can re-direct the airflow through the instrument into the additional tubing whilst playing slide positions nearer to the mouthpiece.  All models in the Odyssey range of high quality brass band and orchestral instruments have been meticulously designed down to the finest details by Peter Pollard. It’s hardly surprising that, with over 50 years experience and having listened to the ‘wants’ of countless high profile musicians, this master craftsman is one of the most sought after custom brass and woodwind builders in the world.   There are many good reasons why this gorgeous Bb/F Tenor Trombone from the Odyssey Premiere Series is a firm favourite, and popular with musicians in the world of brass.   Visually, the Odyssey Premiere Series Bb/F Tenor Trombone is stunning, with a gorgeous rose brass bell and brass body, highlighted with a stunning lacquered finish, whilst an added F valve section, allows the player to reach an extended range of lower notes.  With a generous 8.44"/214.4mm diameter bell, and a larger bore size of 0.547"/13.9mm, with the POLLARD venture, the full range is honey sweet with warm, rich overtones that are also popular with classical horn players.   The most distinguishing part of a trombone is of course, the all important slide, effective for producing note vibrato, one of the most recognisable sonic characteristics of the trombone. The Odyssey Premiere Bb/F Tenor Trombone features a cupronickel slide, super smooth to operate and with the ability for the player to effortlessly create fast or slow vibrato and how wide the note should be.   The response, intonation and all around performance of the Odyssey Premiere Bb/F Tenor Trombone coupled with the high quality materials, make this an ideal instrument for the first time player, teacher, or the most experienced musician.  As a company producing some of the world’s finest brasswind instruments, Odyssey recognise the fact that protection whilst travelling with a delicate instrument is paramount. To ensure players can maintain a high standard with this instrument, Odyssey has included gloves and a cleaning cloth and rod, whilst a plush lined, robust zero-gravity ‘back pack’ hard foam, canvas covered case, with shoulder straps takes all the worry out of commuting with such a delicate instrument.  Specification  Rose brass bell Brass Body Clear lacquer finish Cupronickel slide Mouthpiece Bell Diameter: 8.44"/214.4mm Bore size: 0.547"/13.9mm Zero-gravity ‘backpack’ hard foam, plush lined, canvas covered case with shoulder straps Accessories: Gloves, cleaning cloth, cleaning rod Taking proper care of your instrument will also help you produce the best sound quality possible, we recommend Odyssey and Ultra-Pure brand accessories. Odyssey Premiere 'Eb' (high F# to low A) Baritone Saxophone Outfit

    OBS800

The  Baritone Saxophone  is a member of the  saxophone  family of instruments, larger (and lower-pitched) than the tenor  saxophone, but smaller (and higher-pitched) than the bass. It is the lowest-pitched  saxophone  in common use - the bass, contrabass and subcontrabass  saxophones  are relatively uncommon.  It is a transposing instrument in the  key of Eb, pitched an octave plus a major sixth lower than written. It is one octave lower than the alto saxophone.  Because the Baritone is one of the lowest pitched Saxophones in the woodwind family, it creates a beautiful smooth sound, with a wonderful deep tone - and it is this that sets the Baritone Saxophone apart.  The tenor and the alto are the two most commonly used saxophones. The tenor is pitched in the  key of Bb  (while the alto is pitched in the key of Eb), and written as a transposing instrument in the treble clef, sounding an octave and a major second lower than the written pitch. At Odyssey, we recognise the significant contribution that an instrument makes to the willingness of a student to persevere, practice, pursue the process of learning to control and master the instrument, enjoy making music and progress  With this in mind all of our Saxophone family have been tested in France, at BG, and fitted with the best BG Ligatures possible for each instrument.   With a luscious polished brass lacquered body, offset with clear lacquered parts, the aesthetics of the 'Eb' Baritone Saxophone from the Odyssey Premiere Series speak for themselves.   A real eye catcher without doubt, but it’s also the performance to cost ratio that make this beautiful Baritone Sax a winner. Odyssey Premiere Curved 'Bb' Soprano Saxophone Outfit

    OSS650C

Straight Soprano Sax vs Curved Soprano Sax  Obviously the first difference is in the look. Some people may prefer the look of one over the other, but the aesthetic difference also contributes to the feel and sound. It’s often said that from the players perspective the curved model gives a more immediate ‘feedback’. This is due to the bell projecting some of the sound back towards you.  It depends on your situation. For example if it’s for a younger player (under 10) then the curved may be the best option as it’s smaller in the hands and might be a good step before the Alto Saxophone.  If you’re already an experienced Alto/Tenor player then compare a straight and a curved back-to-back to feel the differences. Which one do you feel physically comfortable with and which ones sound do you prefer? The soprano is the third smallest member of the saxophone family, which consists (from smallest to largest) of the  soprillo, sopranino, soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, bass, contrabass saxophone and tubax. Soprano  saxophones are the smallest and thus highest-pitched  saxophone in common use. At Odyssey, we recognise the significant contribution that an instrument makes to the willingness of a student to persevere, practice, pursue the process of learning to control and master the instrument, enjoy making music and progress. With this in mind all our Saxophone family have been tested in France at BG, and fitted with the best BG Ligatures possible for each instrument.   With a luscious polished brass lacquered body, offset with clear lacquered parts, the aesthetics of the Curved 'Bb' Soprano Saxophone from the Odyssey Premiere Series speak for themselves.   A real eye catcher without doubt, but it’s also the performance to cost ratio that make this beautiful Soprano Sax a winner. Players from students to seriously professional musicians have commented on the excellent response, it has been designed to provide comfort and security when performing in the high register, while maintaining a beautiful warm sound in any range - with superb intonation. As with all Odyssey instruments only the highest quality materials are chosen in the construction.  Reliable Beginners Instrument This Curved 'Bb" Soprano Sax is ideal for young  beginners (under 10 years) due to its relatively  small body  which is comfortable to hold.  The combination of this instrument's size and range makes it extremely versatile and a popular choice. The Soprano is a good Introduction to the young player who wants to progress to the Alto Saxophone.  Strong & Durable Body This instrument has been designed with affordability, durability and comfort in mind. The  body is fully braced  for strength helping it stand up to the demands of regular play and transport to and from lessons. The  adjustable thumb rest, bell joint, neck and stack adjusting screws can be used to make the set-up more comfortable. The saxophone's brass body is finished with a protective lacquer.  Smooth Response & Tone Blue steel springs provide a  robust and durable  action and give a brightness and snap to the instrument's sound whilst domed reflectors aid projection. This Sax has a light, free blowing response that will reward new players with excellent intonation and a stability and evenness throughout the registers. Precision drawn tone holes allow maximum air passage through the instrument.  An auxiliary high F# key provides extra versatility. These features make it easy for students to start seeing results fast.    As a company producing some of the world’s finest brasswindinstruments, Odyssey recognise the fact that protection whilst travelling with a delicate instrument is paramount. • Odyssey Premiere Junior 'C' Oboe Outfit

Odyssey Premiere Junior 'C' Oboe Outfit

    OBE1200

The Oboe is a difficult instrument, but worth it!Unlike with other wind instruments, there tends to be an excess of breath. Therefore, there is no handicap for people of a smaller stature. The structure of the keys is also more compact than that of the clarinet or the flute, and players do not need to press on the holes with their fingers directly, so there is no problem for people with small hands. Arguably, people with small hands even have an advantage.  Clear, bright, penetrating, acerbic, keen, biting, rasping, reedy, powerful, robust, full, insistent. The  sound  quality of the  oboe  is very versatile and ranges from the thick notes in the low register to the thin and piercing high notes.   Student oboe models have a simplified key system as they are meant to be a starting instrument. They are basic and made lacking two keys: the left F and low Bb.  Still, it is no less challenging for a beginner. It serves to guide them into the right feel of playing the oboe. At Odyssey, we recognise the significant contribution that an instrument makes to the willingness of a student to persevere, practice, pursue the process of learning to control and master the instrument, enjoy making music and progress.  The Odyssey Premiere Junior 'C' Oboe is made from a high quality ABS plastic resin which has many advantages. ABS Pros : • Durability • Does not crack • Longer life • No break-in period • Can better withstand occasional playing • Can better withstand harsher playing environments i.e. cold air-conditioning down-drafts in well ventilated band room, for example, or a spring outdoor park concert! • Reacts less to moisture and temperature changes As a company producing some of the world’s finest brasswind instruments, Odyssey recognise the fact that protection whilst travelling with a delicate instrument is paramount. To ensure players can maintain a high standard with this instrument, Odyssey has includes both a cleaning and pull through cloth, whilst a plush lined, hardshell wood case/leatherette covered with padded carry bag takes all the worry out of commuting with such a delicate instrument. Specification• ABS/Wood composite body • Simplified conservatory model • Silver plated key work • High quality pads • Steel rods and screws • Silver plated finish  • Hard shell case: Wood case/ leatherette cover with carry bag plush lined with shoulder straps • Accessories: Cleaning cloth, pull through cloth  Taking proper care of your instrument will also help you produce the best sound quality possible, we recommend Odyssey and Ultra-Pure brand accessories. OTS3700

Tenor saxophones, a bigger, more booming or huskier tone than altos and, as such, have become the main voice of blues, rock & roll, swing and commercial  music. Tenor saxophones  also take more airflow but with the right reed and mouthpiece they shouldn’t really be significantly harder work for an enthusiastic beginner. With its rich, smoky tone and warmth, for many people the tenor is the definitive sax sound.  The tenor and the alto are the two most commonly used saxophones. The tenor is pitched in the  key of Bb  (while the alto is pitched in the key of  Eb), and written as a transposing instrument in the treble clef, sounding an octave and a major second lower than the written pitch.  All models in the Odyssey range of high quality brass band and orchestral instruments have been meticulously designed down to the finest details by Peter Pollard. Wood Piccolo  vs Silver  Piccolo  Most professional level  piccolos  are made from  wood, but they also have a conical bore. Most metal  piccolos  have a cylindrical bore.  In the piccolo's  range, the conical bore imparts a sweeter tone, while the cylindrical bore tends toward a shrill tone.  The  piccolo  is half the size of a  flute and plays higher notes than the  flute  with a range an octave above. It’s a member of the flute family, but is a well known instrument in its own right. Whilst it may not be as popular as some of its sibling instruments, the Piccolo is an enchanting instrument with an extremely distinct and beautiful sound. Odyssey Symphonique 'Eb' Alto Saxophone Outfit ~ Distressed

    OAS3700

The Alto Saxophone  is very much favoured to start with for beginners. The alto sax is heavily played in classical, jazz, big band, concert bands and commercial and is an instrument as well as being the lead voice in a lot of other music from funk to classical chamber music.   The alto saxophone is slightly smaller than the tenor and looks and sounds as you’d expect a saxophone to. Compared with the tenor it is lighter, slightly quieter, takes less puff, less finger stretching.  The  alto saxophone  is the best type of saxophone for beginners because they are the most common. When you are starting out on your  alto saxophone  journey, you'll need to become familiar with the sound of the saxophone by listening to music, especially jazz, and you're most likely to hear an  alto saxophone. At Odyssey, we recognise the significant contribution that an instrument makes to the willingness of a student to persevere, practice, pursue the process of learning to control and master the instrument, enjoy making music and progress. With this in mind all our Saxophone family have been tested in France at BG and fitted with the Best BG Ligatures possible for each instrument.   With a luscious Distressed, Brushed and lacquered body, bell and neck and parts, the aesthetics of the 'Eb' Alto Saxophone from the Odyssey Symphonique Series speak for themselves. It's a stunning looker! A real eye catcher without doubt, but it’s also the performance to cost ratio that make this beautiful Alto Sax a winner. Players from students to seriously professional musicians have commented on the excellent response, it has been designed to provide comfort and security when performing in the high register, while maintaining a beautiful warm sound in any range - with superb intonation. As with all Odyssey instruments only the highest quality materials are chosen in the construction.  This instrument has been designed with affordability, durability and comfort in mind. The  body is fully braced, double stayed keys  for strength helping it stand up to the demands of regular play and transport to and from gigs. The  adjustable thumb rest, bell joint, neck and stack adjusting screws can be used to make the set-up more comfortable.   Smooth Response & Tone Blue steel springs provide a robust and durable  action and give a brightness and snap to the instrument's sound whilst domed reflectors aid projection. • Odyssey Symphonique 'Eb' Cornet

    Odyssey Symphonique 'Eb' Cornet

    OCR1200SG

The E-flat Soprano Cornet is a small soprano/sopranino cornet pitched a fourth above the  Bb cornet.  The soprano cornet is a brass musical instrument, very similar to the standard Bb cornet, it too is a transposing instrument, but pitched higher, in Eb. A single soprano cornet is usually seen in brass bands and silver bands and can often be found playing lead or descant parts in ensembles.  Range: All models in the Odyssey range of high quality brass band and orchestral instruments have been meticulously designed down to the finest details by Peter Pollard. It’s hardly surprising that, with over 50 years experience and having listened to the ‘wants’ of countless high profile musicians, this master craftsman is one of the most sought after custom brass and woodwind builders in the world.   With a luscious silver-plated brass body, offset with gold lacquered parts, including the slide, Monel valves, bottom and top caps, finger buttons and water keys, the aesthetics of the 'Eb' Soprano Cornet from the Odyssey Symphonique Series speak for themselves.   A real eye catcher without doubt, but it’s also the performance to cost ratio that make this beautiful soprano cornet a winner. Players from students to seriously professional musicians have commented on the excellent response and it has been designed to provide comfort and security when performing in the high register, while maintaining a beautiful warm sound in any range - with superb intonation. As with all Odyssey instruments only the highest quality materials are chosen in the construction.  With all the characteristics associated with a soprano cornet including the adjustable tuning lead pipe and the 3rd valve throw, the Odyssey Symphonique 'Eb' Soprano Cornet is lightweight and extremely comfortable to play. Luxurious appointments also include a mouthpiece from a series hand-built to an extremely high standard by Denis Wick and regarded by musicians as arguably the world’s finest. With meticulous attention paid to the rims for comfort and consistency, each mouthpiece, with beautiful and extremely hard-wearing silver and gold plating, delivers a pure honey sweet tone with a rich, mellow voice that has a colourful role in brass bands. Punching dynamics that sit in the higher register add a new dimension when playing obbligato over the top of a musical arrangement.   As a company producing some of the world’s finest brasswind instruments, Odyssey recognise the fact that protection whilst travelling with a delicate instrument is paramount. To ensure players can maintain a high standard with this instrument, Odyssey has included gloves and a cleaning cloth, whilst a high quality, plush lined, canvas covered case with shoulder straps takes all the worry out of commuting with such a delicate instrument. OFL7500

Aesthetically and tonally stunning, handcrafted wooden flutes offer beautifully warm, rich tones - thanks both to the wood bodies and to the design and skill of flute artisans. All wood flutes feature the same substantial power of projection found in professional silver flutes - making these instruments suitable not just for solo and chamber music, but also for symphony and philharmonic orchestra performances.  A melodic instrument for the most part, the flute has a clear and bright sound with a distinctive warmth, refinement and subtlety to its tone. At Odyssey, we recognise the significant contribution that an instrument makes to the willingness of a student to persevere, practice, pursue the process of learning to control and master the instrument, enjoy making music and progress.  The  Odyssey Symphonique 'C' Flute has open holes that  do several things; the most useful being the variations and sounds, and notes that the player can achieve. The  open hole  allows for micro tones, multi phonics, and slides mainly featured in contemporary or jazz music. It also encourages good overall technique and playing posture.  As a company producing some of the world’s finest brasswind instruments, Odyssey recognise the fact that protection whilst travelling with a delicate instrument is paramount.
